Some more moisture please!

I live in a dry climate, and during the winter months my face can become very dry. I drink tons of water and exfoliate, and even that isn't enough sometimes. I've tried the least expensive products to the most expensive products and I have to say...even though the coveted La Mer and Kinerase $100+ feel luxurious, I've had better results with the least expensive.
My recent moisturizer purchase proved to be less expensive but more luxurious...maybe it was the price:) CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM, $12.99 drugstore.com is a nighttime mositurizer, developed specifically for the face, which helps repair damaged skin and maintain the skin's natural protective function with ingredients not commonly found in other moisturizers.

Winter Blues

It's getting cold and winter is just around the corner. Our skin tends to get dry and flaky, but with a few simple steps, you can battle that croc!

1. Dry brush or dry exfoliate your skin before you shower. I like KP Duty Body scrub by Derma Doctor, Sephora $44. Use this 2-3 times a week, spacing out the days in between. (This scrub helps with body acne, chicken skin bumps, shaving bumps, ingrown hairs, etc...)

2. Moisturize with a creamy lotion. I don't have a specific lotion, but I do mix in a few drops of sesame oil or vitamin E oil into the lotion.

3. Drink lots of water. I cannot stress this enough.

4. Sweat at least once a day. This will release the toxins in your body that will make your face and body glow.

5. Drink green tea. It's a super antioxidant!

Favorite Mascara!

I've finally found my favorite Mascara!!!
It's Too Faced Lash Injection Mascara.

With a flick of the specially-designed "GIANT" wand lashes will be injected with indelible, weather-proof color. Substantial percentages of jojoba and vitamin E deeply condition lashes to prevent breakage and damage that can result in broken or sparse lashes. Easily removable with soap and warm water or eye make-up remover, this amazing mascara doesn't dissolve and smudge like any ordinary mascara. Lash Injection comes off in tiny tubes, like little lash socks! ~Sephora

This Mascara is available at Ulta.com or Sephora.com for $21, and is available in Pitch Black and Hot Chocolate!

CORAL LOVE!

I've been obsessed with corals this season...The new sheer coral stains are light and soft, like you've just had a popsicle. I recently bought MAC Lusterglass in Love Nectar at the MAC pro store in South Beach and I love the color. Instant pop of color that make you glow from the inside out. Here is AnnaLynne McCord wearing it for a shoot. She loved it so much, she wore it out that night.

Product Review

After the amazing results I saw from Olay’s Complete Ageless Moisturizer, I was excited to try another product from the same line.

From Olay’s website: "Olay Complete Ageless Eye Brightening Cream combines nourishing all day moisture with vitamins and an anti-oxidant complex enriched with Green Tea and Ginkgo extracts to exfoliate and help promote skin's surface renewal process for skin that is more resilient to the appearance of aging."

The product is advertised to:
- Visibly reduce the look of fine lines and wrinkles
- Dermatologist Tested
- Oil-Free, Non-Greasy

Pros:
- wasn’t oily or greasy
- very light feeling
- didn’t intrude on make-up application
- absorbed quickly into my skin
- no scent

Cons:
- didn’t brighten up my eye area as much as I would have liked
- wasn’t moisturizing enough for my extremely dry skin

Final Comments:
I actually was a bit disappointed with this product. I was expecting wonderful things after all my great experiences with Olay products, but it turned out to be only average.

Although it did absorb well into my skin and was very light and helped moisturize a little, I didn’t find that it targeted those dark circles under my eyes very well, which I expect my eye creams to do. So even though it is more affordable than other eye creams on the market I would rather pay a bit more for more results.
